I have missed weeks of catching up with the Company Girls...so glad to have a chance to do it this week! This weekend is the first no-VBX prep, no guests/guest prep of the summer! I have loved every bit of the fun we've had, but am looking forward to the change of pace for a few weeks before school begins.
The highlight of this week was my sister Kerry's baby shower for a number of reasons. First and foremost, we are so excited that Maisie is almost here! Her scheduled C-section date is August 4 if Kerr doesn't go into labor first. I can't wait to hold sweet Maisie and kiss her cheeks and toes!
Secondly, Kerry finally had a baby shower! This is the third one I planned for her. For her first baby, Caleb, she went into labor early that morning and we had the shower without her while she labored. You may remember that Kerry's second child, Sadie, went to be with Jesus before she was born. The shower had been planned for a few days later. I am so glad that Maisie stayed in so Kerry could come this time!
Then, we were so blessed how everything came together. Life has been full lately (for a brief catch up, click here) and my mom, Pickle and I were fairly short on time to make the shower as special as we wanted to. We had ideas, but basically only one full day to work on all the special details. We had a sweets theme--for Kerry's love of cupcakes and sweets. All of the projects we had never tried before worked and we even came up with a last minute idea or two.
We were blessed with lots of help as well. Denise hosted us in her beautiful home. Calu made faboo cupcakes that matched the invitation. Carly and Becky planned really fun games, and took care of the prizes. And 40 women (or so) helped us shower Kerry with gifts and bless her with their love and support. I know she appreciated the wonderful turnout--even if it did make for the loudest baby shower I've ever been to!!
Our hearts (and tummies!) are full as we wait the arrival of this little gift...
That is the most creative, beautiful shower I've ever seen! I love all the decorations - so fun and special! Where did you get all your ideas? I'm going to bookmark this post for inspiration the next time I'm doing a baby shower.
ReplyDeleteLooks like Maisie will be welcomed into a loving family!! What a exciting time. Congrats.

So beautiful! What talent to put out such a spread. I'm hosting a luncheon for the teachers of our home school tutorial in a couple of weeks...I need some of that talent!

I love that table and all the delights on it! One of my favorite things to do is create a fun table for showers, etc. The diaper and blanket arrangements are adorable, and I love the ice cream cones with the pictures! That will be one blessed little baby to enter into a world of such creativity.
